The choice for a new generation

It’s funny how the brain works, right? Like when someone gets a second or third chance after making the same mistake. And the person granting them that chance doesn’t realize it stopped being a mistake after the first time.

Once you know your actions have hurt another, and you do it again, either it’s conscious and you don’t give a fuck, in which case it’s malicious. Or, it’s not conscious and you still don’t give a fuck, in which case the other person isn’t even on your radar. Their feelings are so inconsequential they don’t even merit consideration.

As the receiver of zero consideration, how do you force that other person to care? To recognize that you matter? Is that even possible? Or do you cut your losses and get out while you can?
